Service Project 2013

Brophy Lacrosse participated in two service projects this school year. The first in September 2012 was a clothing drive for the Upward Foundation for Children and Families. We delivered a truck full of items to sell in their thrift stores.

The second project was the Stride for Sight for the Foundation for Blind Children in March 2013. Over 100 players and their families either raced as a pair with one person blindfolded or as a volunteer. Great job!

Service Project 2012

The Brophy Lacrosse Club has chosen St. Joseph the Worker as our service project for the 2012 season. St. Joseph the Worker is a non profit organization whose mission is to assist homeless, low-income and other disadvantaged individuals in their efforts to secure permanent, full-time employment. One of the important services provided is client access to clothing that is suitable to wear while seeking employment.

The Brophy Lacrosse Club has offered to collect clothing and shoes. Please ask your parents to go through their closets and donate any clean, gently used clothing or shoes that they no longer wear. Keep in mind that the clothing will be worn to seek employment (please no t-shirts or shorts). Jackets and backpacks are also appreciated.

All players are being asked to participate and should bring the clothing/shoes to our mandatory meeting on Monday, February 6th. We will have tables set up by team for donations. The team with the greatest number of donations will win a prize for their coach!

Congratulations to B 2 for winning the prize for their coach.

Dads’ Club Make-a-Difference Project

Thank you to all of the Brophy lacrosse players and their Dads that volunteered for the Dads’ Club sponsored Make a Difference Project with the youth from the International Rescue Committee. The kids had a great time!
