Zach Widbin – Varsity Head Coach (email@example.com)
Coach Widbin grew up in New York’s Hudson Valley and earned All-American lacrosse honors as a senior. He was also his section’s selection to the U.S. Lacrosse National Senior Showcase. He was recruited by Harvard where he played midfield and attack for the Crimson and was a member of Harvard’s 2006 NCAA tournament team. As a college senior, he won the team’s Outstanding Player Award and the Class of ’59 Trophy for Leadership. He was also selected as an NEILA all-star.
During his time at Brophy, Coach Widbin previously took the Varsity II team to the state Division I playoffs. He was also part of the coaching staff for the Broncos’ 2013 state championship season and 2017 state runner-up seasons, and was the head coach during the 2019 state runner-up season.
Coach Widbin also teaches physics at Brophy.
Parker Dickerson – Varsity Assistant: Defense
Parker attended Hempfield High School, located in Landisville, Pennsylvania, where he played varsity lacrosse and football for four years.
Following graduation, Parker spent two years at Essex Community College where he earned All-American recognition. He then transferred to Salisbury University where he was a member of two NCAA Division III Championship Title teams. While there he also earned All-American recognition, and earned the team’s Unsung Hero award in 2012.
Parker coached for Green Turtle Lacrosse Club while playing in college. After graduation, he coached for Quiet Storm Lacrosse Club in Salisbury, Maryland for three years. He also spent a year at Hempfield HS as the varsity lacrosse team’s defensive coordinator, prior to moving out to Arizona. Since arriving in Phoenix, Parker has been an assistant volunteer coach at Grand Canyon University, and recently helped to develop the Rancho Solano Preparatory Lacrosse Program.
Parker has handled duties as the Defensive Coordinator for the varsity team since the 2018 season.
Nic Latham (Brophy ‘12) – Varsity Assistant: Offense/Special Teams
Nic was a 3-year starting midfielder for Brophy from 2010-2012. While at Brophy he garnered all-state recognition for his midfield play in addition to being the premier faceoff man in the state.
Nic was recruited to play and attended DIII Denison University before injuries ended his playing career, bringing him home to finish his degree at ASU.
Since returning to Arizona, Nic has coached in several capacities. He has coached various levels for Force and 3D Arizona club teams, and was the founding head coach of the Mountain Ridge team. He has coached at Brophy since 2014, starting at the JV level, and becoming a varsity assistant for the 2018 season.
Rob Leonard Jr. (Brophy ‘13) – Varsity Assistant
Rob is a native Arizonan who graduated from Brophy in 2013. While playing at Brophy he was a pivotal member of two state championship teams, including captain of the 2013 state champion squad. He also earned first team all-state recognition in 2013 as a close defenseman and LSM. Rob went on to play at Arizona State University during the 2014 season when the team finished second overall in the MCLA.
Rob has coached youth teams in the past including The Arizona Force and The Arizona Burn. As the varsity defensive assistant, Rob’s main area of focus will be on the development of long-poles.
